thought I'd share....

I mentioned the article in my previous post to my father, and he told me about a similar story. When he was stationed at the (long since closed) U.S. Naval base in Londonderry, NI, there was a dog who lived there named Scamp. Scamp was kind of a base “mascot” for them. Scamp would leave the base, walk the few blocks to the bus stop, get on the bus, change busses at another stop, and go to the Diamond bar where the navy men hung out. He was even known to catch a cab outside the bar back to the base (people, cabbies, in the area got to know him). I love stories like this. Animals can be so smart!
